Government Grants for College
When looking to go to college it is best to look for as much free money as you can find. When I refer to free money I am discussing college scholarships and grants. This money does not need to be paid back and can allow many people to go to college who could not if they did not receive this money.
The number one source of government grant money for college is the Pell grant that is available to all US students. A Pell grant will vary in money for each student it can be as low as $400 per school year to $4,500. The basis of awarding this grant depends solely on financial need. Students are eligible when they are an undergraduate and looking to get their first bachelor’s degree.
When going to college there are financial aid offices at ever school that can help you see if you are eligible for a government grant. This process includes taken a look by the government of your families assets and income each year. Also when students leave high school their guidance counselor should help them apply for a variety of other grants and scholarships that are available. Paying for college can be expensive and any bit will help.
